A hearty group of earth loving voluteers helped in so many ways to provide a place to grow fresh produce for the guests of Miss Virginia's. On Saturday, May 16, the planting of 24 peppers, 48 tomatoes, 16 eggplants, 8 cucumbers, 3 mounds of melons, and 1 bed of flowers. We sowed 2 rows of collards, 2 rows of swiss chard, 2 rows of carrots, 2 rows of kale, 2 rows of pole beans, and 2 rows of bush beans.
Work still needed includes weeding and watering through the coming summer. Coordinate availability and interest with Rod Smith at rod@missvirginiafoodpantry.com
